About the Conform Study Clinical Trial
Our plastic surgery clinical trial will study the effectiveness of a procedure called fractional resection on skin laxity on the facial and chin area. Fractional resection is a procedure that removes small dots (or pixels) of skin using a biopsy punch or automatic devices like the single scaplet system or a follicular unit extraction device. Each extraction device is about the size of a small pen with a small circular blade at the end.
Testing safety and efficiency of rotational fractional resection for neck contouring.
Before the procedure, our physicians will analyze your facial skin and discuss the placement of the extractions with you. Our physicians will make sure that you’re in agreement about the locations of each extraction.
To help with any discomfort, our physicians will use a topical anesthetic, which is applied to the skin, or a local anesthetic, which will be delivered through an injection. After the skin extraction devices have been used, a pair of tweezers or a vacuum device will be used to remove the skin pixels.
We hope to understand whether strategic tissue removal using fractional resection will reshape the skin while leaving minimal scarring. This plastic surgery clinical trial takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
Afterwards, our physicians will give you specific instructions for post-op care. You will also undergo a schedule of in-clinic evaluations after the procedure.
